Queer Rabbis Confronting Trumpism: A Strategic Summit
at Pacific School of Religion
Berkeley, CA
More Info / Registration
The QRCT Summit will identify what contributions LGBTQ rabbis can offer in responding to the social justice, pastoral, and existential concerns raised by Trumpism — and empower one another in our responses. Sessions will include analysis of specific threats and challenges, training in allyship of marginalized populations in the United States — including queer and Jewish people — and working meetings for sharing best practices in order to create a strategic blueprint for LGBTQ rabbis.
Outcomes will include:
- networked participants who are better informed and able to connect in their rabbinic work,
- selected informational sessions shared online,
- distributed materials on best practices, and
- avenues for collective responses to Trumpism.
The QRCT Summit will take place Wednesday morning, July 25, 8am through Thursday evening, July 26, 9pm hosted by the Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies (CLGS) at the Pacific School of Religion. This Summit emerged from Nehirim’s LGBTQ Jewish Clergy work and is supported by a grant from the Walter and Elise Haas Fund. For more information, please contact Rabbi Jane Rachel Litman at jlitman@clgs.org . Rabbi Michaelson will be teaching at the summit.
