This presentation argues that because of the election, boring, assimilationist, patriarchal gay marriage is now a form a political, cultural, and religious resistance to the coming regime of white supremacy. Further, it argues that the purported radicalism of marriage critics is either no radicalism at all, or counterproductive in the context of white supremacy. In fact, the Christian Right is right that same-sex marriage is part of the crumbling of its hegemony, and that it can serve as an incremental step toward a program of liberation — or resistance.Â
