Join Dr. Jay Michaelson, author of The Gate of Tears: Sadness and the Spiritual Path, and Zen master Koshin Ellison, co-director of the Zen Center for Contemplative Care, for this unique dialogue on loss, compassion, and service to others. How are we strengthened by our sadness and loss? How do we show up for others while at the same time taking care of ourselves? How can the insights of the Dharma help on such a path?

Sit from 6:00-7:15, conversation from 7:30-8:30.

Dr. Koshin Paley Ellison, MFA, LMSW, DMIN, co-founded the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, the first Buddhist organization to offer fully accredited ACPE clinical chaplaincy training in America and the organization delivers contemplative approaches to care through education, direct service and meditation practice.
