For an increasing number of Jews, the word “spirituality” expresses the essence of religious practice, the point of being Jewish, and one of the greatest joys of being human. For others, it connotes a narcissistic, deluded feel-good that doesn’t promote serious Jewish commitment.

Who is right? What, if anything, distinguishes “good” spirituality from “bad”? And where are we, as a community, headed?

Service at 6 pm; lecture at 6:45. Followed by oneg and Q&A.
