Interfaith LGBT Student Retreat at USC

Jay Michaelson will be the keynote speaker at an innovative innovative multifaith LGBT retreat for students of the University of Southern California, presented by USC Hillel, Jewish Alliance of GLBT’s and Straights (JAGS), the LGBT Resource Center at USC, Genesis 9:13, USC Unitarian Universalists, and USC Student Interfaith Council.

The retreat will be an extended Shabbaton, taking place from Friday afternoon until Sunday mid-day. Participants will be led by student representatives from each organization as well as guest lecturers from faculty and staff. Activities and workshops will include ice breakers, sacred sharing discussions, meditation sessions, bonfire stories and music, nature hikes, exploration and discussion of Jewish medieval liturgical and love poetry, inter-faith Torah study, and of course getting to know each other better over meals.
